The newly renovated Town Hall auditorium continues to be a very busy place with a number of community events, theatre, school concerts, fundraisers and movies throughout the year. Based on a survey, outdoor concerts was the most popular request by town residents. The Town Hall green presents the perfect outdoor setting, and if Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate, the auditorium is available upstairs.
This series is presented by the Town of West Rutland Recreation Department and has been generously supported with the help of our sponsors: Rutland Regional Medical Center, Lake Sunapee Bank, Stewart’s Shops, Price Chopper, Omya, Carris Reels and H. Hirschmann LTD.

The Rutland County Solid Waste District (RCSWD) received approval of a new Solid Waste Implementation Plan (SWIP) by the VT Agency of Natural Resources late last year. The SWIP meets the requirements of the State’s Material Management Plan and delineates how solid and hazardous waste will be managed in the District towns for a five year period. The requirements of the SWIP are extensive. The SWIP is available on the District’s website.
One of the requirements of the SWIP is for solid waste management entities survey constituents on knowledge of variable rate pricing, recycling, organics, construction and demolition debris and Household Hazardous Waste.
Your participation in filling out the survey would be most appreciated. The survey can be found at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/S86DB77

West Rutland road signs available for purchase
Need a one of a kind holiday gift? The Town of West Rutland is auctioning off their inventory of old road signs. Due to new federal regulations all town road signs needed to be replaced with larger, more reflective signs. The new signs are installed and the old signs are now available for sale at:
“I had many requests from residents… what are we going to do with the old signs? I quickly realized the demand was high and these roads signs had sentimental value. It’s the perfect decoration for a dorm room or garage and with the holidays around the corner it’s a perfect gift.” Said Mary Ann Goulette, Town Manager.
The auction is now active and will run until 8:00 AM on December 18th. All proceeds will go towards streetscape improvements in town, trees, flowers and benches.
