There are two black dogs in the Whipple Hollow Road/True Blue Road vicinity that are loose. One of the dogs has had an altercation with a porcupine and is in need of attention. Attempts to apprehend them have not been successful. If you are missing your dogs please look for them there. You may also contact the Sheriff’s department for more information. Update: the dog in need of attention has been caught and has been transported to the Rutland Vet Clinic. The other dog is still at large. It is very important that we find their owners. Please contact Rutland Vet Clinic or the Town if this is your dog or you know who the owns them.
Hydrant flushing will begin Monday, May 14th– Friday, May 18th. As a result you may notice some water discoloration while this process is taking place. Water is safe to use but it is advised to let the water run until the discoloration goes away before drinking.
The West Rutland Town Wide Yard Sale will be on Saturday, March 12th from 8 am to 2 pm. To register your sale with the town (free) and be included in our Town Wide Yard Sale map call 438-2263. A 10’X10′ space may be rented on the Town Hall Green for $20.

The Town of West Rutland is requesting proposals for construction services to bring the Recreation Building and restrooms into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act standards for accessibility and to provide renovations to the existing building. The general design layout is provided by RCWA, the town’s architect for this project.
