Road Signs Available For Purchase

West Rutland road signs available for purchase

Need a one of a kind holiday gift? The Town of West Rutland is auctioning off their inventory of old road signs. Due to new federal regulations all town road signs needed to be replaced with larger, more reflective signs. The new signs are installed and the old signs are now available for sale at:

“I had many requests from residents… what are we going to do with the old signs? I quickly realized the demand was high and these roads signs had sentimental value. It’s the perfect decoration for a dorm room or garage and with the holidays around the corner it’s a perfect gift.” Said Mary Ann Goulette, Town Manager.

The auction is now active and will run until 8:00 AM on December 18th.  All proceeds will go towards streetscape improvements in town, trees, flowers and benches.

Town of West Rutland challenges the Town of Proctor to a yearlong BLOOD DRIVE

West Rutland – The Town of Proctor has accepted the challenge from the Town of West Rutland for a yearlong Blood Drive.  To capitalize on the friendly rivalry between the two towns and to meet the growing need for blood donations, the two towns announced a Proctor / West Rutland Blood Drive Challenge.

Blood drives will be held at a variety of locations in the two communities throughout the year.  The winner at the end of the year will be awarded a rotating plaque to hang in the town hall for a year and will hold bragging rights in the newest phase of the rivalry.

Drives scheduled for West Rutland thus far are: March 25th from 9:00 to 2:00 at West Rutland Town Hall in the auditorium and April 16th from 1:00 to 6:00 at the West Rutland School in the Gym.  Drive scheduled for Proctor thus far is: April 30th from 12:00 to 5:00 at Proctor High School.  And April 20th noon to 5:00pm at St.Dominics.  More dates to follow!

The Red Cross is also looking for variety of volunteers to help with promotion and support for approximately 6 blood drives throughout the year in both Proctor and West Rutland.

  • Volunteering can be a variety of forms such as: hanging posters, posting to social media or calling friends and neighbors
  • Providing food for the blood drive (sandwiches, soup, baked goods, etc.)
  • Register donors at the blood drive, help in the canteen and support the staff.
