Town Wide Reappraisal Begins
The appraisal team will begin the week of May 21st. They will be starting with the following streets: Marble, Main, Chapel, Ross and High.
The Vision Government Solutions personnel will be back in town to continue their reappraisals October 15 through 19, 2018 and November 5 through 8, 2018.
WEST RUTLAND, VT – 2018 REVALUATION
The Town of West Rutland, VT has contracted with Vision Government Solutions to do a complete town-wide reappraisal for the 2019 Grand List. Vision will be working with the Listers office to make this year long project a successful one. The last revaluation was completed in 2008 and current CLA and COD values calculated by the state indicate that a reappraisal is needed again. A revaluation will determine the current fair market value of every property in town. It equalizes the values of all properties for the purpose of a fair distribution of the tax burden.
The major phases to a municipal revaluation are: Data Collection, Market Analysis, Valuation, Field Review and Informal Hearings. You can visit the Vision Government Solutions website at www.vgsi.com for information that explains the revaluation process, and read answers to frequently asked questions. During the month of April, the data collectors will be starting the data collection phase. The Valuation phase will be starting later in the year. Vision personnel will also be driving through the town reviewing all properties to update the Listers Office database. A “Listers Office” sign will also be posted in the vehicle window, and their car is registered with the Sheriff’s Office as well as the Listers Office at the town hall.
